Dear Mr. Rothschild.,
The Newport Beach Marine Department has received a complaint
regarding the use of your residential slip. Specifically, -the
complaint is that the slip is being used in violation of
Section 21.B. of the Newport Beach Harbor Permit Policies, which
states:
21.B "Any boat moored at a pier, dock, or float shall not extend
bayward a distance of more than the width of its beam beyond
the pier, dock or float."
The Marine Department made a field inspection of the slip and found
the vessel moored there to be in violation of the above quoted
policy. To correct this situation, the vessel must be relocated.

Dear Mr. Rothschild:
The Newport Beach Marine Department has received a complaint
regarding the use of your residential float at #70 Linda Isle.
Specifically, the complaint is that the vessel moored there is
in violation of Section 21.B of the Habor Permit Policies,
which states:
21.B. "Any boat moored at a pier, dock, or float shall not
extend beyond a distance of more than the width of its
beam beyond the pier, dock or float."
It is my understanding that the 'float can accomodate your, vessel
if it is berthed bow in. To preclude the need for, further
action by the Marine Department, the vessel must be berthed
in this manner.

I. The proposed development is subject to the following conditions imposed
pursuant to the California Coastal Act of 1976:

ii. The South Coast Commission finds that:
A. The proposed development, or as conditioned, is:
1. The developments are in conformity with provisions of Chapter
3 of the California Coastal Act of 1976 and will not prejudice
the ability of the local government to prepare a local coastal
program that is in conformity with the provisions of Chapter 3
of the California Coastal Act of 1976.
2. If located between the nearest public road and the sea or shore-
line of any body of water located within the coastal zone, the
development is in conformity with the public access and public
recreation policies of Chapter 3 of the California Coastal Act
of 1976.
3. There are no feasible alternatives, or feasible mitigation
measures, as provided in the California Environmental Quality
Act, available for imposition by this Commission under the power
granted to it which would substantially lessen any significant
adverse impact that the development, as finally proposed may
have on the environment.
III. Whereas, at a public hearing, held on January 23, 1978 at

Huntington Beach by a unaniMus vote, permit application
number A-1-12-78-2591 is approved.
IV. This permit may not be assigned to another person except as provided
in Section 13170, Coastal Commission Rules and Regulations.
V. This permit shall not become effective until a copy of this permit
has been returned to the Regional Commission, upon which copy all
permittees or agent(s) authorized in the permit application have
acknowledged that they have received a copy of the permit and have
accepted its contents.
VI. Work authorized by this permit must commence within two years from
the date of the Regional Commission vote upon the application. Any
extension of.time of said commencement date must be applied for prior
to expiration of the permit.
VII. Issued on behalf of the South Coast Regional Commission on
January 24 , 197 8 .

otherwise specified herein.
IV. The grant of this permit is further made subject to the following:
A.. That this permit shall not become effective until the attached
verification of permit has been returned to the South Coast
Regional Conservation Commission upon which copy all permittees
have acknowledged that they have received a copy of the permit
and understood its contents. Said acknowledgment should be
returned within ten working days following issuance of this
permit.
B. That said development is to be commenced on or before 360
days from effective date of issuance.
V. Therefore, said Permit (Standard, 3� � ) No. P-6-27-75-5632
is hereby granted for the above described development only, sub-
ject to the above conditions and subject to all terms and pro-
visions of the Resolution of Approval by the South Coast Regional
Conservation Commission.
