SUBJECT: Contract with 911 Vehicles for Purchase and Installation
Command and Communications Equipment
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve a sole source contract with 911 Vehicles with an amount not to exceed
$24,000 for the Command Vehicle.
DISCUSSION:
Background:
On October 10, 2006, Council accepted Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI)
grant funds for $65,000 to purchase a Multi- discipline Command Vehicle and
approved a sole source contract with 911 Vehicles with an amount not to exceed
$65,000 for the Command Vehicle.
The Fire Department has identified additional equipment that will give better
communications and control capabilities for water -borne and wildland incidents.
911 Vehicles has provided a cost proposal for purchase and installation of the
equipment for $20,310.35.
Funding Availability:
The funds are available in this year's budget to complete this installation.
