DISCUSSION: At their meeting of June 18, EQAC recommended appointments to fill three vacancies on the Committee. Michael Pascale is recommended for the District 3 position. Although he does not reside in this District, Council Member Webb deferred this appointment to EQAC. The Committee Resolution provides that a district position may be filled with a non - resident when the Council Member does not appoint a resident within 60 days of the vacancy. EQAC's recommendation for the Community Association position is Timothy Stoaks, who has been active in Friends of OASIS, the YMCA and the Santa Ana Heights Project Area Committee. Susan Knox is recommended for the Environmental Expertise position because of her significant interest in and knowledge of "green" building. Drawing upon my quantitative business analytical background, I plan to document that the return on investment (ROI) for "green building" is significant making it less expensive than "no"reen" choices. • Demonstrate that green building can be luxurious. Many people have negative perceptions of green and wrongly assume that green means sacrifice.
