Mayor Et Members of City Council
City of Newport Beach
3300 Newport Boulevard
Newport Beach, CA 92663
Dear Mayor Rosansky Et Members of City Council:
The OASIS Senior Center is a vital part of this community and provides endless
services and activities which assist in keeping senior residents active and well. The
Building Committee is extremely pleased that the City Council is moving forward with
the space needs and cost estimate analysis for the new OASIS Senior Center. So that
these services continue to be available to our citizens we want to assure the City
Council of our commitment to this outstanding project.
In an effort to address the financing that will be needed for this project, we have
formed a committee that will be co- chaired by Evelyn Hart and Dr. Gwyn Parry which
we are calling The Newport Beach /OASIS Senior Center Building Fund Committee. It
is comprised of a group of community members interested in raising funds in order
build a new Senior Center.
The money raised from the community will be deposited in a restricted City account
used for the primary purpose of providing the amenities that will be needed by the
new Center. Therefore, we are requesting official recognition by the City Council of
this Building Fund Committee.
The Friends of OASIS have committed $25,000 towards this effort and is asking that
the City Council provide additional financial support to the Building Fund Committee
from the existing OASIS Capital Fund held in the City Reserve Account.
Sincerely,
EvelyrYHart/ Dr. Gwyn Parry
