Major Findings
Residents take enormous pride in their
community.
There's a struggle to find the balance between
growth & maintaining quality of life.
There is a perception cited by residents that
the City needs to prioritize arts & culture in a
substantive way.

There is a desire to balance development of
commercial & residential units with spaces
dedicated to the arts.
Residents applaud efforts to highlight what is
unique to Newport Beach and move forward
with a Master Plan for Arts as a sign of the
City's cultural maturity.
Plan's Recommendations
I. Grow public investment in arts and culture.
Form a task force to review City's funding & make
recommendations
Establish an appropriately staffed Division of Arts and
Culture.
Issue an RFP for consultant to work implementing the
Master Arts Plan recommendations.
