Box 1768 Newport Beach, Ca 92658 -8915 Mr. Conway: Thank you for your letter response of July 21st to my telephone requests for the removal of trees in front of my property at 501 - 501 1/2 Narcissus and the staff recommendation not to remove them. By copy of this letter to the General Services Director, I am again asking that the request for removal be considered by inclusion in future Commission agenda for the following reasons: Eucalyptus Tree at 501 Narcissus (facing Second Street) - has caused the curb /gutter to be raised and a collection of water for years (City has just gone to the expense of having to replace curb /gutter and will again because of this tree) - has in the past lost heavy limbs during windstorms on cars and into my side yard causing the City to repair /replace my fencing. . - continues to drop limbs on my roof, breaking the wood shingle. I have just recently replaced this roof and do not wish a continuation of this damage. Eucalyptus Tree at 501 1/2 Narcissus .(facing Second) - has caused the curb /gutter to be raised and a collection of water for years (City has just gone to the expense of having to replace curb /gutter and will again because of this tree) - has involved me and my insurance in a liability claim because of trip and fall over roots resulting in a broken ankle - also continues to drop limbs in windstorms These are hardly trees of extreme beauty, stately trees which contribute to the entire neighborhood nor landmark or dedicated trees but do have a consistent history of damaging public and privately owned property and I again request, as in the past, that they be removed, as allowed under City Council Policy G -1. aSi carely, i "Edward 501 1/2 Narcissus, CDM (714) 759 6930 cc: David E.
