SUBJECT: Planning Commission Agenda for March 18, 2010
Report of the actions of the Planning Commission Meeting:
Rem No. 1 Minutes dated March 4, 2010
Summary: Approved as corrected. (5 Ayes, 2 Excused)
Item No.2 The Counter - (PA2009 -166)
1104 Irvine Avenue Suite No. 1104 and No. 1108
Summary: The application consists of a use permit for an eating and drinking establishment
(restaurant) that would supersede Use Permit No. 3445 and allow for the following:
1) A 774-gross- square -foot expansion, including 567 square feet of net public area
(NPA) for the purpose of providing additional dining and bar area; and 2) An
outdoor dining permit that would allow accessory outdoor dining NPA equal to 25
percent of the indoor NPA; and 3) Introduction of a Type 47 (On -Sale General —
Eating Place) Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) license.
Discussion by the Commission focused on the hours of operation and the
appropriateness of allowing the sale of distilled spirits in a neighborhood shopping

reflecting the proposed operational characteristics of the restaurant, it would be
compatible with the shopping center and the neighborhood.
This item was approved. (5 Ayes, 2 Excused)
