Corona Del Mar Residents
The areas around Corona Del Mar will be heavily
Impacted on May 3, 2009 from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM.
If leaving after 6:00 AM residents are advised to park
north of East Coast Highway. Take East Coast Highway
West to MacArthur Blvd. to the 73 freeway.
Balboa Island /Promontory Point /Linda
Island /Harbor Island Residents
These areas will be heavily impacted on May 3, 2009
from 6:00 AM to 8:30 AM.
East bound traffic on East Coast Highway will be closed
from Jamboree Rd. to Narcissus Ave. from 6:00 AM to
7:30 AM. The Balboa Island Bridge (Jamboree Rd. and
Bayside Dr.) will be closed from 6:00 AM to 7:45 AM.
Bayside Dr. east of Jamboree Rd. will be closed for
traffic from 6:00 AM to 7:45 AM. Eastbound traffic on
Bayside Dr. from Jamboree Rd. to East Coast Hwy will be
closed from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM. There will be no
access to the Linda Island and Harbor Island communi-
ties during this closure.
Newport Dunes /Eastbluff Residents
These areas will be impacted on May 3, 2009 for the OC
Marathon.
Back Bay Rd will be closed from Entrance to Newport
Dunes to Eastbluff Dr. from 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM. If you
are wishing to leave the area be advised to take Jambo-
ree Rd. to the 73 freeway. Newport Dunes residents and
guest will be heavily impacted from 6:00 AM to 8:30 AM.
Access to the area will be closed from 6:00 AM to 8:30 AM.
Entrance to Bayside Village will be closed from 6:00 AM
to 8:20 AM. North Bayside Drive from East Coast
highway to Newport Dunes entrance will be closed in
both directions from 6:00 AM to 8:20 AM.

Event Information
The OC Marathon has an entire weekend full of events for
people of all ages. Marathon, half marathon, SK and Kids
Run, we have an event for everyone in the family. For
more information please visit our website at

Expo
A 2 -day Health, Fitness and Nutrition Expo will be held at
the OC Fair & Event Center building 12. The expo is free
of charge and open to the public. Come enjoy samples,
entertainment and information on food and nutrition. The
Expo will be open on Friday May 1st from 12 to 7:00 PM,
and Saturday May 2nd from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. For

Road Closures and Course
The Marathon and Half Marathon take place in the cities
of Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Irvine, and Santa Ana.
Road closures will take place from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

plan ahead for Sunday May 3rd, as you might experience
traffic delays.

regarding The Avia OC Marathon and how it may affect Newport Beach
residents, businesses, churches, traffic routes, deliveries, etc. on Sunday,
May 3, 2009.
The OC Marathon is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that offers a series of
Scott Baugh annual footraces, running clinics, and a youth fitness program to Orange County
Co -Chair residents with the purpose of preventing obesity and promoting the health
Doug Ingram benefits of physical fitness and sound nutrition. In addition, each year the
marathon provides a powerful fundraiser tool for Orange County charities and
Co -Chair schools. This year, over 8,000 runners from Southern California and from across
Jean Pasco the nation will join in the 5h annual Avia OC Marathon.

Road Closure Information
Event Information
The OC Marathon has an entire weekend full of events for
people of all ages. Marathon, half marathon, 5K and Kids
Run, we have an event for everyone in the family. For

Expo
Health, Fitness and Nutrition Expo will be held at
the OC Fair & Event Center building 12. The expo is free
of charge and open to the public. Come enjoy samples,
entertainment and information on food and nutrition. The
Expo will be open on Friday May 1st from 12 to 7:00 PM,
and Saturday May 2nd from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. For

Road Closures and Course
The Marathon and Half Marathon take place in the cities
of Newport Beach. Costa Mesa, Irvine, and Santa Ana.
Road Closures will take place from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

details or see below for street by street closures. Please
plan ahead for Sunday May 3rd, as you might experience
traffic delays.
Volunteers /Spectators

East Coast Highway will be down to 1 -lane in both directions from Dover Dr. to Bayside Dr. from 10:00 PM Saturday May 2nd through 2:00 PM

East bound traffic on East Coast Highway will be closed at Irvine Terrace to Narcissus Ave. from 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM.
West bound traffic on East Coast Highway will be closed from MacArthur Blvd. to Jamboree Rd. from 6:00 AM to 6:55 AM.
Balboa Island Bridge will be closed at Jamboree Rd. and Bayside Dr. from 6:00 AM to 7:45 AM.
Irvine Avenue closed from Monte Vista Ave. to Anniversary Ln. from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Bristol St. closed at Santa Ana Ave. from 6:00 AM to 10:15 AM.
