She suggested that EST take three parking spaces on Bay Avenue for its trucks and equipment. 2. She is satisfied with cones at the sampling sites as long as they are being monitored continuously. (Gil Wong may have other requirements for these potential trip hazards.) 3. Sampling sites need to be in the parking lane or sidewalk: no sites with the traffic lanes. 4. EST can fire up its generator at 7 am, M -F. 5. EST needs to coordinate with Mike Sinacori for utilities. Kjr k Tkoyvt S OYl — PSvAll /-S 5 u b E.S.-F. Environmental Support Technologies, Inc. will be conducting the Odor Assessment and Feasibility Study. The study area for the Odor Assessment will be the area bounded by Main and Palm Streets on the east and west, and Edgewater and Balboa Boulevard on the north and south. The Odor Assessment will take place on about five days during the workweeks of June 12 and June 19; 2000 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Three days of the Odor Assessment will involve ambient air monitoring. The fourth day of the assessment will involve subsurface gas monitoring and the fifth day will involve subsurface soil/sediment sampling. The ambient air monitoring will require access to some commercial buildings in the area. Please cooperate with the assessment contractors and allow access to your building should they request access. The subsurface gas monitoring and subsurface soil/sediment sampling will involve the use of truck -mounted hydraulic-drive/pneumatic hammering equipment. This equipment is loud. Upon request, the assessment contractor will provide earplugs to merchants located in the vicinity of the assessment area. Hammering activities at each location will last approximately 30 minutes. Should you have additional questions concerning this work, please contact Mr. Bob Stein at the City of Newport Beach. Telephone: (949) XXX-XXXX. Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this effort.
