SUBJECT: ON -CALL PUMP REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE SERVICES —
APPROVAL OF AMENDMENT TO PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH ORANGE COUNTY PUMP CORPORATION
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve Amendment No. 1 to Professional Services Agreement with Orange County
Pump Corporation for on -call pump repair and maintenance services and authorize the
Mayor and City Clerk to execute the Amendment.
DISCUSSION:
Background:
On June 24, 2008, the City Council approved a Professional Services Agreement (PSA)
with Orange County Pump Corporation (OCPC), to provide as needed on -call pump and
motor repair and maintenance services that may be required to keep the City's water
wells, pumps and motors in service. This Professional Service Agreement expired June
30, 2009.
On -call agreements allow staff to retain and quickly access specialized services that are
regularly required for various repairs of the City's water wells, pumps and motors.
OCPC is willing to extend the PSA for one year with no increase to fees. Staff
recommends extending the term of the PSA for one year (June 2010). The Fee
Schedule is attached.
Orange County Pump Corporation has performed quality repairs on various pumps and
motors on numerous occasions over the past five years. The scope of work for the on-
call professional agreement being amended includes the following: on -site pump
repairs, in -house pump and motor repairs, hoist and crane services for removal /repair of
large pumps. These services include both scheduled and emergency repairs.
