CLARIFICATION OF ITEMS ON THE CONSENT CALENDAR. (4:00 P.M.)
2. SEA LIONS IN NEWPORT HARBOR. (4:10 P.M.)
An update from the Harbor Resources Manager regarding sea lion deterrent
measures and practices. Sea lion season in Newport Harbor typically begins in
mid- to late -July and can last until October. In the past, the City has used physical
deterrents (like blocking access to "haul -out" sites on boats and docks) and
sprayed water to keep sea lions from congregating in areas where their noise
impacts residents adversely.
3. CODE ENFORCEMENT CITATION PROCEDURES. (4:30 P.M.)
Community Development staff will present information about how they secure
compliance with the City's zoning and related codes (including nuisances) via
notices of violation, administrative citations, and more. Staff will propose possible
improvements to the Code Enforcement process.
4. VISIT NEWPORT BEACH PRESENTATION. (5:00 P.M.)
Executive Director Gary Sherwin of Visit Newport Beach, Inc. and members of the
Visit Newport Beach board will present the marketing plan and budget for Visit
Newport Beach's upcoming fiscal year. Mr. Sherwin will also discuss aspects of
the current City -Visit NB agreement that can be modified to reflect recent changes
to the Visit NB bylaws.
The City provides a yellow sign -in card to assist in the preparation of the minutes. The completion of the card is not
required in order to address the Council. Speakers must limit comments to five (5) minutes on agenda items. The Council
has the discretion to extend or shorten the time limit on agenda or non - agenda items. As a courtesy, please turn cell phones
off or set them in the silent mode.

Any writings or documents provided to a majority of the City Council regarding any item on this agenda will be made
available for public inspection in the Office of the City Clerk located at 3300 Newport Boulevard during normal business
hours. In addition, such writings and documents will be posted on the City's website at www.newoortbeachca.eov
This meeting is subject to the Ralph M. Brown Act. Among other things, the Brown Act requires that the agenda be posted
at least 72 hours in advance of each meeting and that the public be allowed to comment on agenda items before the City
Council and items not on the agenda but are within the subject matter jurisdiction of the City Council. The City Council
may limit public comments to a reasonable amount of time, generally either three (3) or five (5) minutes per person.
It is the intention of the City of Newport Beach to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in all respects.
If, as an attendee or a participant at this meeting, you will need special assistance beyond what is normally provided, the

Public comments are invited on Closed Session Agenda items, as reflected in Item ll - Closed Session of
the Regular Meeting agenda, and on non - agenda items generally considered to be within the subject
matter jurisdiction of the Council. Speakers must limit comments to three (3) minutes. Before speaking,
