The Newport Harbor Nautical Museum spends a considerable amount of marketing dollars promoting the Harbor, the Nautical Museum, and the City of Newport Beach. In addition, the museum has an extension educational outreach program within the City with its Museum on Wheels. The Newport Beach Conference and Visitors Bureau has used the nautical Museum for larger meeting groups so that they are able to experience the pleasures of the Harbor. On special occasions the Museum has organized a number of outreach programs with tours, special events, and family outings at the Museum. Also, through their dock they have had a number of historical ships call on the City of Newport Beach and have been able to offer tours of the ships as well as sailings on the bay. The Museum is proposing a "Seaport Village" concept as a future option and the Newport Beach Conference and Visitors Bureau would be very interested in seeing this materialize. This would be a great attraction for the City of Newport Beach and there would be a "spill over" effect with the visitors possibly needing overnight accommodations, spending money in the gift shops and using other services within the City of Newport Beach. The true joy of selling Newport Beach is that people can experience the thrill of being by the sea and in some cases going on board a ship and seeing the passing scenery. 110 Newport Center Drive Suite 120 Newport Beach, CA 92660 949.719.6100 1.300.94.COAST FAX 949.719.6 101 newportbeach- cvb.com
