Sinacori, Principal Civil Engineer 949 - 644 -3311 msinacori @city.newport - beach.ca.us SUBJECT: BIG CANYON RESERVOIR COVERING AND DISINFECTION FACILITIES; STATUS REPORT PRIOR TO BIDDING PROJECT The Public Works Department, in concert with Utilities Department staff, will provide Council with a PowerPoint presentation on the status of the Big Canyon Reservoir Covering and Disinfection Facilities Improvement Project. The presentation will include the history of the covering and disinfection project over the last ten years, a review of the contract plans and specifications, and a summary of what can be expected during construction over the next year. In addition, the Utilities Department will present the State guidelines for operation of a floating cover system and the required manpower to accomplish the maintenance responsibilities. Landscaping Plan K Landscaping Plan • The City shall ensure that the plans and specifications for the project include preparation of a landscaping plan to screen views of the reservoir for adjacent residences. - The Landscaping Plan shall be prepared by a licensed landscape architect in consultation with representatives of the affected neighborhoods, and Shall beeviewed and approved by the City's Environmental Caotdinator prior to commencement of construction.
