PROJECT: Appointments to the Economic Development Committee
SUGGESTED
ACTION: Appoint Lisa Reedy as Newport Center/Fashion Island
Representative
Designate Gary Di Sano as Cannery Village Representative,
and Michael Porter as At -Large Representative
Long- standing member Jerry King has resigned from the Economic Development Committee
(EDC), leaving a vacancy in the Newport Center/Fashion Island area. Lisa Reedy, Executive
Director of the Newport Center Association, has expressed interest in serving in that capacity,
and the EDC is recommending her appointment. Her resume is attached.
The EDC Chairman also is recommending the redesignation of two existing Committee
members. Michael Porter, who was appointed to represent the Cannery Village area, has
relocated his office to Old Newport Boulevard. He is an active Committee member who chairs
the subcommittee on strategic planning and recently agreed to serve as EDC Vice Chairman.
Gary Di Sano, who was appointed as an at -large representative, owns property and maintains a
business in Cannery Village. He is willing to represent the Cannery Village area, which would
allow Michael Porter to remain on the Committee as an at -large representative.
