Speakers must limit comments to three (3) minutes. Before speaking, we invite, but do not require, you to state your name for the record. The City Arts Commission has the discretion to extend or shorten the speakers’ time limit on agenda or non - agenda items, provided the time limit adjustment is applied equally to all speakers. As a courtesy, please turn cell phones off or set them in the silent mode. 4) APPROVAL OF MINUTES – January 12, 2012 5) CURRENT BUSINESS A. ITEMS FOR REVIEW AND DISCUSSION 1. Cultural Arts Activities - Monthly review of cultural arts activities, calendar for upcoming library and City arts events and services. 2. Correspondence and Press – Review of Arts Commission correspondence and/or marketing materials. B. ITEMS FOR REVIEW AND POSSIBLE ACTION – 1. Concerts in the Parks – Review and vote on music, parks and dates for summer, 2012 concerts and plays. 2. Review Budget – Select community programs through June 30, 2012. Review 2012/13 Budget Guidelines. 2 3. Art in Public Spaces - Review of and potential vote regarding Commission's recommendation to City Council of proposed donation of sculpture to the City by the Irvine Company. C. MONTHLY REPORTS: 1. Fine Arts Committee – Commissioners Boller and Greer 2. Performing Arts Committee – Commissioners Goldberg, Lasky and Trela 3. Museum Tours and Special Events Committee – Commissioner Goldberg 4. Arts Foundation Liaison Committee – Commissioners Greer and Grant 5. Art in Public Spaces/Historical Preservation Committee – Commissioners Smith, Trela and Boller 6. Budget Committee - Commissioner Lasky 6) CITY ARTS COMMISSION ANNOUNCEMENTS OR MATTERS WHICH MEMBERS WOULD LIKE PLACED ON A FUTURE AGENDA FOR DISCUSSION, ACTION OR REPORT (NON-DISCUSSION ITEM) 7) ADJOURNMENT This City Arts Commission is subject to the Ralph M. Brown Act. Among other things, the Brown Ac t requires that the City Arts Commission agenda be posted at least seventy-two (72) hours in advance of each regular meeting and that the public be allowed to comment on agenda items before the City Arts Commission and items not on the agenda but are withi n the subject matter jurisdiction of the City Arts Commission. The City Arts Commission may limit public comments to a reasonable amount of time, generally three (3) minutes per person. It is the intention of the City of Newport Beach to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) in all respects. If, as an attendee or a participant at this meeting, you will need special assistance beyond what is normally provided, the City of Newport Beach will attempt to accommodate you in every reasonable manner. If requested, this agenda will be made available in appropriate alternative formats to persons with a disability, as required by Section 202 of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. Sec. 12132), and the federal rules and regulations adopted in implementation thereof.
