Newport Beach City Arts Commission Special Meeting Minutes
Monday, November 25, 2013 – 4:30pm

Convened at 4:39pm
1) Call Meeting to Order
Chair Goldberg called the meeting to order.

3) Public Comments No public comments.
4) Current Business
1. Approval of the Newport Beach City Arts Commission as a recommended recipient for FY
2013/14 Cultural Arts Grants in accordance with City Council Policy I-10 – Financial Support for
Culture and the Arts.
Chair Rita Goldberg noted that at the November 14, 2013 City Arts Commission regular meeting the City
Arts Commission approved $18,000 of the $40,000 granted allocations towards various entities. At that
meeting, although the City Arts Commission discussed retaining the remaining $22,000 and allocating it
for programming of the City Arts Commission, as they never formally motioned or voted on it at that time.
This meeting has been called to do so.
It was moved, seconded and passed (Commissioner Greer/Commissioner Logan) to approve the
$22,000 to the City Arts Commission for the execution of City programs including bus tours, City
concerts, Newport Beach Arts Exhibition and Sale, and other programming for the City Arts Commission.
Motion carried by all Commissioners in attendance.
