Over the years I have witnessed many developments. I feel that as a long term resident I have a working knowledge of the city and understand the problems that face the residents and the city. It is my desire to become apart of a committee that will assist our city's council in implementing positive changes. For 10 years I have been a member of the Little Balboa Island Property Owners Association. I acted at President of LBIPOA in 2008. As an acting member I have worked with the association to improve the area in which we live. In 2010, I worked closely with those who were responsible for the 2010 Sand Study of Balboa Island and had an input on the final report. Asa professional, I have worked at Hirsch Pipe & Supply Company since 1965. 1 became a member of the Pacific Southwest Distributors Association and for a time served as the association's President. The territory of this organization covers all the wholesalers of California, Nevada, and Arizona. I then purchased Hirsch Pipe & Supply in 1978 and became President and CEO over the companies 3 locations. During my time at Hirsch, the company has grown to 16 locations. I became the Chairman in 2001 and currently am still Chairman. I understand the complexities of an organization, the necessity of strong values and a clearly defined charter.
