doza Gardens, Corona del Mar, paused in Sao Paulo, Brazil, just

to get the news from home.
"As you can see I am in Sao
Paulo 'The fastest growing city
in the world'-2,500,000 people.

trees in bloom. I know how peo-
ple feel at Cardoza Gardens wht>n

visiting Guatemala, El Salvador.
Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Costa
Rica is wonderful. It is small and
the people are most friendly. Be-
gonias grow wild and I visited
coffee and sugar plantations. The
male parent of Begonia 'Liltian
Sloan' (named for Mrs. Cardoza
S loan). is a native of Costa Rica.

on my way to Quito, Ecuador.
Quito is nearly 10,000 feet high
and was most comfortable after
Panama, the equator runs through the city of Quito, but being so
high in the mountains. it is quit<'

city, but I took a plane from

people are unfriendly and they
are ready to blow apart again. A

Piccu. which was the home of the
Inca Sun Gods. !t is the most
beautiful place I've ever s('en and
