I think they assume rhe listener alre~dy undersl~nds. Will you pie~ commtnt in depth on these verses?" A. You have asked about the very heart of the Gospel. Notice how 11 deals with the superlatives, "For Cod (the Infinite One) so lo ved (the infinite degree of love) the world (all inclusive) that whosoever (the greatest invitation possible) believeth (the greatest simplicity possible) in Him should not pensh (the greatest degree of destruction or condemnation) but have ever· lasting life (the greatest degree of life and joy)." No wonder this has been aptly described as "The Cold- en Text of the Bible.'' When the lord Jesus Christ camt! to this earth the first time it was not for' the purpose of j udgin~ fvs. 17). He came to show us, and to brcome, the Way back to C.od. ThP Lord fulfills the three-fold office: Proph- et, Priest and Kin~. A prophet rep· resents God before thC' peopiP. The priest represents the people before God . And the king is one who has Dr. a.;. L. ,......,. rulership over the people. So Jesus A. T~re will probably be a tJme Christ will and hu fulfilled the of relative peace when the sinister prophef and priestly aspect of His figures of the last days make a work. He will fulfill the Kingship coven~nt with Israel. Scripture tells of His work coming as King of Kings us (I Thessalonians 5:3) that when and lord of lords in an imminent the world thinks all Is peace and hour. safety then will sudden destruction Also, do not overlook verse 18. come upon them. (Remember, the While the provision of salvation is C hurch Is already wi1h Christ in made for everyone in the world, heaven.) There will not be a final not everyon e wlll find eternal life. peace until the lord Jesus returns The reason is that they must be-visibly and bodily to this earth as lieve to be saved. It is entirely a the Prince of Peace. pe rsonal transaction between you and the lord. The next time Christ comes it will be to condemn the world. He will judge in righteous· ness and holiness. All the unsaved of every generation are going to stand before Him at the Great White Throne judgment. He will even condemn the material world because it must be cleansed and purified. Its renovation will be by fire fll Peter 3J. Then will come the new heaven and lhe new earth whe rein dwetleth righteousness forever and forever. Q. Colou.do Springs, Colo. "Is there going to be a time of 'mock peace' on earth during the first half of the Tribulation?" Q. Spirit Lake, Ida. "To whom does the word 'nations ' reler to in the 10th to the 21nd chapters of Rev- elation? Also in 22:2 why should any healing be necessary in the Holy City?" 7Jt'O MINUTES A. Gentiles is the latin word in English which means "nation." From the context of the chapters about which you have asked the reference is to Godly nations. They will be not only in the earthly reign of Christ but also in heaven. The residential place of the church dur- mg the millennium will be heaven and the residential place of godly Gentiles and godly Israelites will be on earth. The New Jerusalem will be a midway meeting place between the two (Revelations 21 :2). Our listener is basically asking if there will be stckness during Christ's earthly reign. The answer ts that the leaves o f the tree are not to heal the nations physically but, as the translations indicate. it means for the continued well be- tng and health of the nat ions. For believers there will be no sickness during the millennium. """ 1HE IJIIJL£ n" C"OIINIUUI •· n-.. Hll. ....... ..... ICJoC»Y''' c .. There is no abruptness of transiti~. The question with which chapter 6 beRins arises from the emphasis at the dose of chapter 5. J£ grace supuabounds where sin abounds, if the multiplica- tion of transg-rusion serves to exhibit the lustre of grace, and if the law ad- ministcnd by Mose• came in alon~· side in order that the trespass miJfhl abound, the logical inference would seem to be, let us sin aU the mo~ in order that God may be glorified in the maf"i.fying of his grace. Union leaders and a lot of other guys who make an easy living at the public trough do the same. While they're beating their gums, we, the people, pay the bill for their big salaries and pensions and their high spending. When the small merchant has his tax bite increased by the high and mighty in their royal places, the merchant passes the bite on to the customers in higher prices. That's called inflation. U the 15 to 75 per cent, they've got to steal the money somewhere, and the guy they steal from has to steal some of it back from you. They call it inflation. They should call it stealing. palace-dwellers their salaries raise What can we do about it? First, let's have each state send one congressman and one senator up to Washington for one term with the understanding that he will get no pension. You'd be surprised how fast you'd see inflation start back downhill. Now, before you can operate, you have to have the patient's consent. It will be hard to get that consent. There'll be plenty of loud, long screaming, but we should insist anyway. Both political parties are partners in this inflation crime and they create a lot of chaos with one bunch in office and the other bunch screaming to get in. One term and no pension is the place to start. At the store, we don't sell guns, ammo or dangerous weapons. We do have plenty of crying towels, a great deal of patience and some old-time hardware. Come in and let's cry together. ,_ AL FORGIT THIIOUTHLNeO'I PUll IT • H.UDWAIU • COLONV PAINTS • SMALL APPLIAHCIS • PLUM liNG IUPPLIII IT w 2201 W.IALIOA ILVD .. NIWPOif IIACH f"HONI 01 1-2110
