Alth9ugh Hewitt, a Tanta/lon skipper, and her crews compete weekly -fre- quently even more -often than that -the Transpnc Race is the supreme event in which to conquer. But the waters in the middle of the Pa- cific Ocean seem equally as far from land ns Hewi tt was sailing only three years ago.
