He entered the food business at the age of 14, while still in school. working for relatives who owned a hamburger stand in Hollywood. After graduating from Lake- wood High School, Aispuro worked as a production manag- er for a manufacturing company that produced time-recording equipment, "The company grew from 10 employees when I started work- ing there to 100 employees after five years. ·1 grew with the com- pany, and after w orking there for five years I felt I couldn't grow any mor~," he said THE RIGHT PLACE At the time, his parents had a fast-food stand in Long Beach. People were afraid to come there. I started to get wor- ried that I wouldn't make enough money to pay my bills." ' He talked to his older brother, explaining to him that he felt he could make it in the restaurant business if he had the same menu as in Long Beach but in a different location. Aispuro and his brother asked relatives and friends to lend them money, so they could buy a restaurant in a better area. They looked in the newspapers for ads about restaurants in Orange County. "I found a brand-new place, but my father saw it and told me he didn't think I was ready for a brand-n ew place yet," said Ais- puro. So he kept looking, until he found PK Burgers in Costa Mesa .
