When Murphy's dramatic putt ended the third Senior Classic 1 :40 after ESPN's scheduled air time departure of 4 p.m ., there was enough light for about another three holes. Play would have continued today had darkness interrupted the record playoff, which began at 18, then traced its steps to No. 16 on three different trips, a total of 27 holes on the day for Murphy and Sigel. · For Murphy it ·was his first vic- tory on the Senior Tour this year, the fifth different player to win. "We were out there so long, I thought they moved the club~ house," said Murphy, who fought like a true Irishman, because Sigel had better distance off the tee and thus an advantage in the • playoff.
