After spending most of Tues- day watcJl!ng Northwood (Irvine) Little League right-hander Ricky J ustus blo'1'. fastballs by them, the Newport Beach Little League All· Stars will get another opportunity to win the Distnct 55 Champi- onship . J ustus took a no-hitter into the last inning as Northwood (6-1) which !).as fought its way throug~ the loser's bracket, defeated Newport Beach, 5-2. at Curtis P.ark, site of host Rancho Mission Viejo Little League. Newport Beach will face Northwood again on ThW'Sday at 6 p.m for the championship and the right to advance in the post- season. Manager Ron Maggard's Newport Beach squad (4·1) almost became the fourth consec- utive shutout victim' of North· wood's pitching staU.. But Wes Presson broke up Justus' no-lut bid leading off t.Qe sucth i.nniiig and later scored on an error to ruin the shutout. On the 30th anruversary of the first man to walk on the moon, Newport Beach made one small step for man in reaching thi~ point, and hopes to make' one giant step for mankind on Thurs- day.
