There were several times over the week-
eod when we shared struggles and tears
and passed around boxes of tissues until
they ran out. Then we P,ftSsed around rolls
of tOtJet paper.
·1 can't tell you how great 1t feels to getr
these feelings and tears out.· a woman said
while hugging another. ·rve heard of a
cleansing breath. weU. lh1s was a deansing cry.• •
Fairview Community-Church
I was part of a women's church retreat
last weekend. Even tho~gh I didn't know
the women ahead of time, I felt instantly
connected to them. espeoally when we
started smging worship song to God.
Practically everyone had extra chal·
lenges and obstacles that almost prevented
them from going on the retr~t. In fact,
some women admitted that they were
about to cancel· their reservation but felt
·that God wanted them there. It also seemed
as II everyone had gone through unusually
hard and painful tunes recently. and we all
see.med to feel emotionally fragile.
Over the weekend we had different
opporturubes to share our highs and lows,
and then lo prayertully tum those muted
emobons over to God. I was impressed with
everyone's honesty and vulnerability.

just need to hear from God and be with
other women who can help me,· one
woman said. •And I need to pray and
stng .
Pray and sing we did, and as tune went
on, we saw some prayen answered and we
all felt lighter as we Wted our hearts and
voices to God. It became increasingly dear
that God had kept the reservabon open for
each woman there and had speoa.I mes-
sages to communicate to each and every
one. It was dear that he was waiting for us
with open arms, and bugged us each of us
repeatedly through the other women.
It's great when we can get away from
our daily routines, spend time with special
friends and focus on Goel But it's even
greater that we can connect with God any
lime. anywhere. Nol only is he w111bng with
open arms, he bas a standing releJ'Vabon
