This week, Comite de Padres, a urut of the state pepart- ment of Education that monitors English-language programs, praised the school district for working to make 1mprovementS, though 1t also noted several dreas that need more work. The dlstnct has estab- lished a proce to assess English·language learners dnd notify parents of lest results, the group reported. Now. the district needs to morutor its programs adequately and make sure they are put in place and maintawed. That would be a true vic- tory for our children.
