He makes me giggle by holding me upside down
and swlnglng me 'round and 'round. He lets me
drive the golf cart when we go to Strawberry Fann.
He builds sand castles with me at the beach and
protects me from the big waves. He works thtte
jobs so my mommy can stay home and play with
me. He doesn't get mad when I use his sunglasses
or wallet as teething toys. He lets me stand on his
lap and steer as be backs out of the driveway every
morning. He carries me ln the backpaclc and lets
me help wash the truck or water the roses. And
above all else, he loves me with all his heart and al-
ways puts me and Mommy before hlmself!

lawn and into storm drains. This water then flows
untreated into our creeks, streams, harbors and the
ocean. Help protect the environment by c~refully following
directions and not using more fertilizer or pesticide than
you need. Don't use the products when rain is predicted
within 48 hours. Water your lawn by hand or adjust
sprinklers to avoid over-watering. If any water flows off
your lawn, you're using too much!

The Giants' Jesse Paz threw 44 pitch·
es through three no-hit innlngs. He got
a break in the second tnnlng when the
Yankees' Spencer Undsay hit a ground
ball to first baseman Frank DiPretro.
DiPretro rushed forward to gobble up
the grounder and Died to tag Undsay
out Undsay avoided the tag and was

After some deliberation between the
umpires, Undsay was called out for
running out of the base path. Paz, who
struck out six and only walked two,
gave the Giants the conJidence to take

The beginning proved to be a
critical point lo a quarterfinal
game between the Costa Mesa
National Uttle League Oo<lg-
ers and the Robinwood Angels
in the District 62 Majors divi-
sion Tuumament of Ownpl-
ons at LeBard Part Saturday.
The Dodgers, the designated
visiting team, appeared to
have started out splendidly
when Josh Dominguez led off
with a single to right. But An-
gels starter Mitch Huffman re-
tired the next three, on a
strikeout and two lnfleld pops.
Robinwood seemed to have
capitalized on Its momentum
in the bottom half of the first.
The Angels scored three
runs, all unearned. The Dodg-
ers could not recover and lost,
6-0.

The Angels' shutout victory
erased a quality pitching effort
from the Dodgers' A.J. Roth.

strikes. He struck out the side
in each of the first three in-

The Angles scored another
unearned run In the second

The Dodgers had two hits,
as they were mostly controlled
by pitchers Huffman and
Henry Owens. Dominguez and
Eric Mickelson had one hit
each for the Dodgers. Roth,
Josh Hill and fyler Sullivan
reached on walks.
Costa Mesa left 1wo runners
on base in the fourth and
again in the fifth . In both in-
nings, the Dodgers had run-
ners on first and second with
one out, but Owens, a lefty,
struck out the next two bat·
ters.
"I wasn't impressed with any
of our play," Brown said. "We
just did not play our game."
Brown. however, took pleas-
ure in the Dodgers' season this
year.
"We had a fal')tastic season,·
he said. "We played good,
solid baseball. We had a great
run."
